A car that was produced without regard to profitability

AUTECH Japan has introduced numerous customized models to the world as a specialist for Nissan vehicles. However, the company’s name has now changed to the AUTECH division of Nissan Motorsports & Customizing Co. In 2016, AUTECH released the Nissan March Bolero A30 in a limited edition of 30 units as a model to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its founding. Here is a look back at its shocking contents.

The overall width has increased by 145 mm

The Nissan March Bolero A30 is based on the March Bolero, one of AUTECH’s most popular customized cars, which has been around since the second-generation March era and has gained popularity by giving the base a retro interior and exterior design, and was created with the best of AUTECH’s technology. It was a car that incorporated many of the skills of a master craftsman with no regard for profitability.

This A30 has many points worthy of special mention, but the most impressive is its wide body, which was widened by 145 mm. The front mask has a soothing Bolero look, but the glamorous bulging front and rear fenders set it apart from the usual Bolero.

The front fenders have new fender panels, but the rear fenders have been widened by AUTECH’s craftsmen. Of course, the fuel inlet has been reshaped to a natural shape, and it is hard to believe that it was done by hand. The body was also reinforced to match the enlarged tread, and the spare tire house in the trunk space was flattened and a member was added for thorough body tuning.

The description so far may make the A30 sound like a burly high-performance sports model, but in fact, it was a model that took grand touring performance to the extreme. The engine, while highly tuned, was flat and easy to handle, and the clutch was light. The use of Recaro LX-F IM110 front seats was also a part of this.

The reason why such a model that is the culmination of AUTECH’s technology was released at such a low price of 3,300,000 yen is because the cost of parts was added without regard to profitability, and no technical fees were added to the price.
