The Toyota AE86 “Corolla Levin/Splinter Trueno” is known as a special car that nurtures drivers, and racing driver Masahiro Sasaki is one of the drivers who was raised by the AE86. Let us introduce the ideal car that Sasaki has once again acquired and tuned.

The engine is tuned AE92 late model 4A-G

His family ran the business of car shop, and his father was involved in motorsports, so he was familiar with cars from an early age. By the time he got his driver’s license, the AE86 was popular as an inexpensive starter car, and Mr. Sasaki bought an AE86 and honed his skills on the winding roads.

After that, Sasaki repeatedly bought and sold AE86s and became a professional driver, but he could not let go of his love for his AE86, partner and bought it again.

New parts for the AE86 are still being released. This machine has been finished in a modern style with carefully selected high-quality parts. The engine is based on an AE92 late model 4A-G with Toda’s high-compression pistons and high cams. The exhaust system uses a FUJITSUBO muffler and manifold to produce 160 PS.

For the drivetrain, ATS’s differential and Ogura’s clutch kit were installed, and KMS’s original shock absorber and HAL’s coil springs were used for the suspension to achieve high performance.

ENDLESS brakes and Super RAP wheels were chosen. The wheels are 15-inch 8.5J and 195/50R15 Potenza RE71RS rubbers with good grip were selected.

Full BRIDE interior specifications

The interior is a full BRIDE specification, not only the front seats but also the rear seats and door panels, showing Sasaki’s attention to detail.

The AE86 is now quite expensive. This is a good sample that former owners who drove AE86 in their youth will find useful when they drive it again as adults.
