An expert who conquered DRECON put his heart and soul into this car
This Toyota 210 series “Crown” was built by Kyoshi Hattori, who has stepped into the world of tuning, dress-up cars, and VIP car customization, and knows all about customization. We will introduce you to a Crown, a VIP car with sporty elements.
Aiming to be at the top of the 210 series Crown World
Yasushi Hattori, a resident of Mikawa City, Aichi Prefecture, enjoys customizing his Toyota 210 series “Crown,” a car that is not overdone. He has always loved tinkering with cars, and after obtaining his driver’s license at the age of 18, he fell in love with the world of tuning that was popular at the time, and spent his youth driving a Toyota GX81 series “Mark II” with a 1JZ engine and turbo tuning, and a 1.5J, 600 hp Mark II with mechanical tuning and zero yon. He spent his youth racing the Zero-Yon.
Then he became interested in the world of dress-up cars, and purchased a Toyota “Estima” to build a luxury audio car. As the times changed, he switched to the world of VIP cars and got into making one-off aero parts, building various original VIP sedans, and winning dress-up contests.
His original car designs are the most important part of his career.
After falling in love with the allure of original car design, he acquired the skills to create the car of his dreams at will, and created the ultimate car: the Crown, which he built with all his might, aiming for the top of the 210 series Crown world, which is full of high-level machines in the VIP world.
Even VIP cars have sporty specifications
As for the body design, as Mr. Hattori described it as “a violent car with wide fenders,” the amount of protrusion of the front and rear fenders creates an extraordinary atmosphere. The shape of the fenders is also unique, and its appearance was modeled after the best Super GT cars in Japan. Some parts of the body were taken from the body elements of a car that competes in the German Touring Car Championship, or DTM, and made into wide, macho, wide fenders.
Mr. Hattori has always loved to drive, and his motto is to make even VIP cars sporty. The base grade of the 210 series Crown is Athlete, so the car was fully armed and customized to look worthy of its name.
The front of the car has been changed to a vertically split spoke fin type while maintaining the shape of the spindle grille to emphasize the Crown-like appearance. The headlights have been remade, and the bumper features a three-dimensional design with a large opening at the bottom on each side, characterized by the way the underlip protrudes. The hood has ducts, and the front section alone has already been transformed into a racy style.
