Coloring with a strong presence to create a supercar-like custom
About 200 GR86 & 86 & BRZ cars gathered at the Gunma Sonic held at G-Messe Gunma on July 6, 2024. We picked up one car of interest from among them. This time, we will introduce a wide-bodied Toyota “86” that stands out with its two-tone light green and black color scheme.
Got the 86 after a long hesitation with the S15 Silvia
As we walked around the large outdoor venue, we spotted a bright light green wide body with a Pandem body kit that was recognizable even from a distance. We talked to the owner, Mr. Yamen Mobarak, who had been in Japan for 9 years and spoke fluent Japanese.
Yamen originally also liked the S15 Nissan Silvia, and at first, he was torn between the S15 and the 86 as a base choice, but it turned out that the S15 was also expensive for minor repairs. However, the S15 was more costly to repair, so he decided to go with the more affordable 86. As a result of his search for an 86, he found this 2014 model, which was light blue, about four and a half years ago. Since acquiring it, he has been steadily customizing every part of it, and has finally managed to get it close to his ideal style.
The bright light green is a stock color of the Honda S660
It was not until this year that the car was fitted with a Pandem V3 widebody and painted in the two-tone green and black of the Honda S660 to give it its current appearance. The two-tone paint line is creative, and the hood is set with a paint line that extends from the front in a V-shape. The inside is painted black and the outside is painted green. The roof, trunk, and the center of the rear bumper are also painted black. The rear GT wing is also painted black for the blades and green for the wingtip plates. HKS coilovers were installed, and 18-inch Work Emotion CR2P wheels were chosen for the suspension. ENDLESS calipers were installed for the brakes, and other details were also taken care of.
The engine was tuned with a bore up and turbocharged
In addition, this vehicle is not only visually appealing, but the engine has also been thoroughly worked on. The displacement was increased to 2.2 liters and a TRUST turbo kit was installed. The engine has been greatly increased in power.
“The 2.2-liter engine and the turbo kit made it much more powerful. It is completely different from the stock engine. It’s just really fun to drive.”
Yamen also replaced the rear trunk emblem with the same Scion emblem as in North America and replaced the taillights with Tom’s taillights, showing his attention to detail. The interior is also coordinated with TRD bucket seats, MOMO steering wheel, and carbon fiber parts, showing that the driver is truly enjoying the 86.
