Valuable concept car from RE Amemiya

RE Amemiya has always created a buzz at the Tokyo Auto Salon every year, with the GReddy series at the top of the list. These vehicles are special cars that symbolize the era in which they were built, and are generally not for sale. The car introduced here is Mr. “NAO”‘s car, “Genki-7 (幻気-7)”, which he was finally able to acquire after going to RE Amemiya many times and building a relationship of trust with the company. This car was exhibited at the 2009 Tokyo Auto Salon and became the talk of the town as a tuning car with a high degree of perfection.

Unfortunately, his previous car was scrapped in an accident

He has always loved the design of the machines that RE Amemiya has worked on, and when he started driving the Mazda RX-7, he immediately installed the RE Amemiya full aero system. When he saw the Genki-7, a concept car based on the Mazda RX-7, on display at the 2009 Tokyo Auto Salon, he was struck by the car and said it was the ideal car he had envisioned. He says it was the ideal car he had in mind.

He later visits RE Amemiya and asks if he can have it finished to the same specifications as the Genki-7. However, at first, they were flatly refused.

However, he really wanted to make his car look like the GenKi-7, so he continued to go to RE Amemiya for consultations while tuning his car. Then, unfortunately, his car was totally damaged in an accident. He was extremely depressed as it was his precious car, but despite the loss of his beloved car, he could not stop his passion to drive the RX-7 again.

In order to build a RE Amemiya-specification RX-7 again, he consulted with them starting with the search for a base car. Then, when Amemiya representative learned of the situation,

“We don’t really intend to sell it.”

but later, he received a very grateful offer to give the “Genki-7” to “NAO”. He said he couldn’t believe his ears, but it was true, and he recalls that he was so happy that he jumped up and down.
