“I bought this car for the first time when I started working. I got it in 1998, so I’ve been driving it for 26 years now.

The British auto industry has undergone a complex series of mergers and acquisitions since the prewar years, but as of 1989, the name of the company that produced the Mini was the Rover Group. The 1-liter engine was still in the lineup until that year.

“About three years after I got it, the gasket came loose. I was busy at the time and didn’t have a lot of time for the car, but I didn’t want to let it go, so I evacuated it to my grandmother’s house and had it sleep there for the next two years.”
