He loves his ZN6, which he rushed to purchase just before the end of sales

“I work at a used car dealership, but this is the first car I’ve bought for myself, partly because I handle cars for work. I thought it would be the last time I would be able to buy a new car with a manual transmission, so I took the plunge and bought it.

Mr. Futatsuka obtained a GR SPORT vehicle, which was available on the ZN6 model, a rare package that was only produced for essentially two years, from 2018 to 2020. The one we obtained is a 2020 model, so this unit is the last model before the end of sales. It has already been four years since we obtained it, but we were impressed that it has kept its body remarkably clean.

The body is red, and the aero and wheels are color-coordinated in black

The GR SPORT has a front bumper and lip, side skirts, and ducktails, but instead of using the same color as the body, they were left in the factory gun metallic color. The rear side lip, which was not available for the GR SPORT, was selected from Kansai Service and painted in gun metallic as well.

The wheels for the GR SPORT are exclusive 17-inch wheels, but Mr. Futatsuka chose 18-inch TWS RS317 wheels in black. Incidentally, the roof is also blacked out, but this is due to wrapping. The total two-tone style is a red body with just the right amount of black space.

Power up the engine with a supercharger!

Looking at the interior, two Recaro Sportsters are installed instead of the GR SPORT’s exclusive seats, and the GR SPORT’s genuine steering wheel has a smaller diameter than the standard one and is wrapped in leather, a favorite feature. In addition, a high-end audio system including a DIATONE head unit has been installed. The sound quality is surprisingly good.

And last but not least, the engine compartment. The car is equipped with an HKS supercharger kit, and a Powercraft muffler was chosen to match the kit. The power has been greatly increased, making the car even more enjoyable to drive.

Although Mr. Futatsuka’s 86 GR SPORT is not a flashy customization, you can see that a wide range of work has been done on the engine, interior and exterior, and even the audio system. This interview gave us a sense that the car is being cared for with a lot of love and care from the owner.
