Custom-made with a hard-edged atmosphere
At the “Gunma Sonic” held on July 6, 2024, a space was set up to display vehicles driven by female owners. The Toyota “86” and Subaru “BRZ” ridden by female owners were all lined up in a row. In this issue, we would like to introduce a lady owner, Ms. “Shuri,” who drives a BRZ.
BRZ purchased to replace an 86 that fell off a cliff on a mountain pass
Looking at the cars one by one, many had cute, feminine displays, but some were lined up in a way that one could not imagine too many women riding in them. The one I would like to introduce here is Ms. “Shuri”, who rides such a hardcore BRZ. She had driven an 86 before this car and switched to this 2017 BRZ STI Sport just two years ago. We asked her why she switched.
“My old car fell off a cliff when I was driving on a mountain pass. Of course, it was scrapped, so I decided to transfer all the usable parts to it.”
Wide body specs with exquisite paint line settings
It is clad in a Pandem widebody kit and has a huge GT wing. The body is painted bright purple, but the hood, trunk, etc., as well as under the doors are black. This is a trick to make the body look thinner, which visually lowers the vehicle’s height. The front lip is a one-off fabrication, suspended by a chain. The rear wing is the same external one that Paul Walker uses on his R35 GT-R. There is certainly no girly atmosphere in the exterior. Rather, it has a masculine style.
“I don’t want to be the same as everyone else, so I thought purple would stand out. I thought purple would stand out. “Because of that, people often tell me it’s not a very feminine car.”
Wide purple body swallows deep black rims
The wheels are SSR’s ProfessorMS3, 18” front and rear. The spokes are black to emphasize the chrome and depth of the rims. The rear tires are 285/35R18, a size that is chosen to match the wide body.
Turning to the rear, under the huge rear wing, the center part of the diffuser has been cut off, and a cannonball-shaped muffler protrudes from the center. This muffler was made by HKS, which has already been discontinued.
I’d like to work on the engine in the future,” she says, foreshadowing further evolution. We will keep an eye on the changes in the future!
