90 Supra Itasha wrapping specification

Mr. “Tetsu” is a sports car enthusiast and anime fan. His current car is a Toyota Series 90 Supra fully wrapped in the anime “Kirara Fantasia”, which is his favorite anime. The car’s body is boldly painted with an original arrangement of the characters from the anime as “THE Itasha”.

Riding a variety of sports cars, he continued to think of the 90 Supra

Mr. “Tetsu” has been creating painted cars for several decades. He has driven Mazda RX-7s and other sports cars, and was once obsessed with circuit driving. He is also an expert in customization and has experience in dressing up cars, including stance cars, and after getting into the world of ‘Itasha’ (painted car), he bought a Mercedes-AMG “A45” and then a Mitsubishi “Lancer Evolution X”. In addition to an aggressive style based on a wide body for the painted car specifications, he also built an air suspension system to pursue a more powerful form, and expressed a high-level pain car by elaborate wrapping of his favorite characters.

At the same time, amidst the sad reality that sports cars are disappearing from the world, the appearance of the Toyota 90 Supra, a genuine sports car that had not appeared for a long time, greatly shook Mr. “Tetsu”‘s heart. And although he honestly wanted to buy it, the cost of purchasing the car was not something he could easily afford. For this reason, he decided to tease the Lancer Evolution X more and make it more appealing to the public. However, there was always a thought in the corner of his head, “I’d like a 90 Supra.

One day, he came across an overly cool car based on the 90 Supra that he had always had his eye on. That car was a KUHL RACING complete Supra. The moment I saw this car, the feelings I had been holding back finally exploded!　Perhaps it was a coincidence, but I happened to get information that a fully complete 90 Supra by KUHL RACING was available as a used car, even though I couldn’t afford to buy a new car. I fell in love with the all-black KUHL-spec 90 Supra, which was in excellent condition and too cool, and bought it immediately.

Boldly painted his favorite character on the body

After purchasing the complete machine, he immediately consulted the Art Factory, which also handles the wrapping of racing machines such as the Super GT, with the aim of creating a painted car exactly as he had envisioned. He asked Art Factory to wrap the car immediately on the day of delivery, and Mr. “Tetsu” says that it only took two weeks to complete the car to its current specifications.

How the elaborate wrapping by the Art Factory was completed is that the owner specified the use of Majora colour as the base colour in order to achieve a “suspicious” and attractive look, which is a particular point of interest. This is not an all-peel paint job, but a full wrapping of the entire body. On top of this, a collaborative design of Darkness Peach and Shadow Mistress Yuko, two of Mr. Tetsu’s favorite characters from KIRARA FANTASIA, has been drawn. The design was created to charm with its rich expressions and cool poses, while changing the character on the left and right sides of the body respectively.

As a sports car, it also pursues coolness

As for the specifications of the 90 Supra, the sporty and stylish cool form stands out only because it is fully completed by KUHL RACING. The suspension, which adjusts the ride height and determines the final form, is also freely controllable through the use of D2 Racing’s air suspension.

For tires and wheels, WORK GNOSIS CVS 19-inch wheels with Hankook Ventus tires (front F255/30R19, rear 275/30R19) complete the sporty look.

The existence of the 90 Supra is rare even in the Itasha world, where many remakes are based on sports cars, and according to Mr. “Tetsu”, there are only about three of them in the whole country. Because of this, the 90 Supra stands out from the crowd and is often approached by people. He says he is very happy to know that there are many owners throughout Japan who have come to know about his car through this kind of interaction. In the future, he plans to further remake the car to make it even more attractive, and to create a wrapping car with some ingenuity while thinking about the pictures to be drawn on it.
