Remember DUB custom?

There are different genres of customization. In the case of this Honda Elysion, the genre is the DUB-style. It became popular about 10 years ago and is based on US luxury custom.

Fusion with American comic heroes

The DUB-style was born out of DUB, an American car magazine first published in January 2000. At that time, DUB featured the high-quality cars of famous athletes and celebrities with big rims and large-diameter wheels. This was a huge breakthrough that influenced street customization in the U.S., and the style quickly spread across the country.

DUB-style luxury customization became popular in Japan, and customizing with wheels and parts sold in the USA was also popular.

After a while, Japanese custom makers began producing US-style parts one after another, and the Japanese custom scene also gained momentum.

This “Mad Dog” Elysion was produced as one of the most original cars while respecting the DUB-style. The eye-catcher is the “Iron Man” airbrush art.

Around 2012, the DUB-style was very popular for painting characters from movies and American comic books such as Universal and MARVEL on the body. The owner of this car also loves the MARVEL hero Iron Man and painted scenes of the hero in action on the hood and rear bumper.

In addition to Iron Man, the hood features a beautiful woman in a black leather suit with sexy breasts, the Black Widow.

Adapted BMW front bumper

The front bumper was made thicker to emphasize the flabby face. To create a futuristic image, the air ducts were hidden as much as possible.

This bumper was made by combining the front bumper of the BMW F33 4 Series Cabriolet with the bumper of the Elysion.

Other exterior features include the original light jacket, and the wheels are US/DUB 20-inch Fin Mesh models. The wheels are a nostalgic spinner model, and the car appears to be spinning even when not moving.

The body is also painted with pinstripes to emphasize the DUB-style.

The interior was customized for exhibit at the event. All seats except the driver’s and front passengers were equipped with an audio system.

The air-suspension tank, amplifier, and huge speakers were all housed on a dedicated circuit board. The layout was designed and beautifully laid out so that no wiring was visible. Iron Man’s eyes also sparkle.
