What we aimed for was a cool and cute Move Canvas image

The Daihatsu Move Canvas is extremely popular among the native generation for its not only cute but also cool exterior and comfortable, convenient, and stylish interior. The pop and cute looks of the car attract many female users. Hidekuru, a resident of Osaka Prefecture, decided to dress up her car with the theme of “cool and cute” based on the Move Canvas. She has completed a stylish style that looks good on the street without losing the Move Canvas’ originality.

Cal look all painted in the colors of the Mini

The coloring was kept the two-tone color that has become synonymous with Daihatsu’s Move Canvas, but all-penned in Caribbean Aqua Metallic Blue Pearl, the factory color of the third-generation Mini Convertible. This color was unique, and the combination of metallic and pearl gave it a special shine.

If you look closely, the entire body gives the impression of being smooth, but this is the effect of the smoothing process. To emphasize the sense of unity and the rounded shape as much as possible, we have made special efforts to bring out the smooth form, such as by eliminating emblems.

The theme of the exterior was to play with the unique VW “Type 2” (Wagen Bus) motif of the Move Canvas, adding my own twist and incorporating some custom elements of the cal look that originated on the West Coast of the United States. To emphasize the “Cal look,” a huge original roof carrier based on the Suzuki “Lapin” was built on the roof. A MOONEYES license plate was also added to emphasize the cal look.

The front and rear aero parts, which at first glance look like genuine aero parts, are made by D-SPORT. The side steps are unique in that they were modified from the “Mira Tocott” to give it more volume and a style that wraps around the body.

Interior is sporty & “Wild Speed” style

The ride height of this Move Canvas has been lowered to a sticky level because it is equipped with air suspension, but according to Mr. Hidekuru, it is not possible to lower the ride height to this level with a normal Move Canvas. Therefore, in the case of this car, the suspension arm was made as a one-off and converted to an independent axle to achieve this ride height. The reason for the revision of the arms was not only to lower the ride height but also to make the tires and wheels fit properly within the fender arches while adding a camber angle from a styling point of view. What was sought was a suspension structure that could be lowered to the extreme.

The interior, on the other hand, is coordinated with the body color. The interior, including doors and panels, is white with aqua metallic blue accents and paint colors. The interior image can be likened to that of a “SpoCon” + “Wild Speed” style. The seats are Cobra bucket seats and a four-point roll bar and X-mounted diagonal bar are added after the second seat. Everything behind the second seat has been modified as an audio system space. A huge woofer + 4 four-speaker box with twin NOS tanks were installed to create a sporty feel.

Hidekuru’s Move Canvas Custom is a truly ingenious and ingenious vehicle, and even the parts that cannot be seen have been thoroughly worked on.
