Ms. “Kie” became interested in sports cars after watching “Initial D” and decided to purchase a Mazda FD3S RX-7. However, when she looked for a used car, she could not find one in good condition, and when she talked to a friend who was familiar with cars, she was told that the FD3S might be good for a second car, but that it might be inconvenient to use as a first car for shopping, etc. She thought that might be true and gave up on the idea. She says her beloved car, a 2004 RX-8 in Velocity Red Mica, is now in its 12th year of ownership. When she first purchased the car, she intended to drive it fully stock, but then she began to think that if the car belonged to the sports car category, she wanted it to look cool, so she started tuning it to give it a racy look.
Because the RX-8 is popular as a base car for dress-up, there is a great variety of parts available. To make it look cool, Ms. “Kie” researched and selected the following parts: Auto Exe front bumper, late stock side steps, Overdrive rear wing, and Revolution hood.
As she had hoped, she also added some Night Sports eyeliner to give the car a sharper front face, giving it a more polished, racy look.
She also likes to drive and enjoys circuit driving from time to time. Therefore, the suspension of her car was strengthened and a Blitz coilover kit was installed to set up the car for street driving and sports driving. A closer look at the interior reveals that only the driver’s seat has been replaced with Recaro full bucket seats.
