A 19-year-old owner whose Camaro has only been delivered for three months

The “Chevrolet Fun Day 2024” held at Fuji Speedway on June 1, 2024, attracted many Chevrolet cars from all over the country, including past generation “Corvettes” and “Camaros. At the event, we spotted a yellow 5th-generation Camaro with a beginner’s mark! Are these beginner marks real? We started by asking the owner “K.K.” about such questions.

He admired Camaro after watching Transformers

When we asked him about it, he told us that the owner Mr. “K.K.” is only 19 years old and just got his license last September, so this beginner’s mark is real. His car is a 2010 Chevrolet 5th generation “Camaro SS RS” with a distinctive yellow body color that reminds one of the Bumblebee version in the movie “Transformers. Even the smallest details are reminiscent of the car in the movie. K.K. says that the cinema catalyzed his admiration for the Camaro.

“When I was in elementary school, I saw Transformers and thought, ‘I want to own a Camaro!’ It’s been my dream car ever since.”

He wanted a Bumblebee-spec Camaro, so he went far and wide to see one

Considering his age of 19, one would think that this Camaro would have been his first car, but not.

“At first I was driving a Nissan Cube that I bought from a friend. But I always had a longing for a Camaro, and I often checked out information on used Camaros.”

That is how he found his current favorite car, a Camaro, but the deciding factor was its specifications.

“When this car came out in the Bumblebee version, I thought, ‘This is it!” I live in Kanagawa, Japan. I live in Kanagawa, but I immediately went to Okayama to see it.”

When he saw the real thing, he was even more captivated by it. Thus, his current car, which he found in December 2023, came to him in March 2024. Since only about three months have passed since he took delivery of the car, he has not done much customization himself.

He’ll be customizing it in his colors little by little from now on

The current specifications are the same as those finished by the previous owner. The distinctive yellow body color is an all-new paint job. Since only 16 units of the limited edition Transformer version of the Camaro were sold in Japan at the time, some people at the event were surprised to hear, “Isn’t this a limited edition car? Some people were surprised. The fact that many people thought it was a real limited edition car shows its high degree of perfection.

Mr. “K.K.” says that it is still difficult for him to customize the car on his own due to his budget, but he would like to gradually add his color to the car. His major goal at the moment is to incorporate the exterior of the high-performance grade ZL1.

“Of course, I really like the current exterior of the car, just like in the movie, but I saw pictures of people overseas who had customized their cars to ZL1 specifications, and I thought it was cool. It’s a bit of a challenge for me, but I’d like to customize it while taking advantage of its current good qualities.”

The story of Mr. “K.K.” and his Camaro has just begun. We can’t wait to see how his Camaro will evolve in the future.
