TOYO TIRES, one of the major tire manufacturers, displayed one of the most coveted vehicles by Mazda fans at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024, held from January 12 to 14, 2024, and captivated viewers with its overwhelming coolness. Here are its details.

The car’s name is “FURSTY,” and it is a drift machine built by Mad Mike (Michael Whiddett), a world-renowned racing driver and TOYO TIRES brand ambassador, to compete in the D1GP. 2023 In the 2023 season, he was competing in Formula Drift Japan, but this season he decided to challenge D1GP.

The base of the FURSTY, which was marked “Mazda Savanna RX-3 Mad Mike D1GP entry,” was a remake of a 1974 Mazda Savanna RX-3 Sport Wagon that Mike had driven in his youth in New Zealand. A 4-rotor rotary engine co-produced by Mike and TCP Magic was mounted on the front of the car. It has a displacement of 650 cc x 4 and is said to boast a maximum output of 500 hp.

The Savanna Rotary Wagon, also affectionately known as the “Savagon” among car enthusiasts, can sometimes be seen at the Auto Salon fully loaded with aero parts, and the FURSTY is equipped with a lip spoiler in the front and a plate wing in the rear. The FURSTY also has a lip spoiler in the front and a plate wing in the rear. It has a Pandem aero system and powerful wide fenders, making it a wide and low-stance car.
