New FAIRLADY Z also makes an appearance in the GT300 class
The 2024 season of SUPER GT, Japan’s premier GT car race, began at Okayama International Circuit in Okayama Prefecture on 13-14 April 2024. While three manufacturers, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda, compete in the GT500 class, the GT300 class has become a kind of cross-fighting competition with import car brands mixed in. This video introduces the machines competing in the GT300 class. In this second volume, we bring you Car No. 9 to Car No. 25!
The popular Hopiko is back and will be competing from the opening round!
In the 2023 season, GAINER entered two Nissan GT-Rs, but for the 2024 season they will have one car, a GTA GT300-regulated RZ34 “Fairlady Z”. The drivers will be the same as in the 2023 season and the 2023 season. The drivers will remain the same as in the 2023 season, with Ryuichiro Tomita and Keiji Ishikawa.
HOPPY team TSUCHIYA, led by coach Takeshi Tsuchiya, was unable to continue competing due to a car fire in the fourth round of the 2023 season. However, with the help of crowdfunding and other means, the machine was rebuilt and will be entered from the start of the 2024 season. Drivers are Togo Suganami and Takamitsu Matsui, who transferred to the team in 2023 and drove Car 5 “Mach Shaken Air Buster MC86 Mach”, making a comeback. Kimiya Sato is registered as the third driver. The return of No. 25 “HOPPY Schatz GR Supra GT”, known as Hopiko, will also be closely watched.
Other teams have made no changes to their machines, but have made changes to their driver line-ups, with Ryohei Sakaguchi remaining in the No. 9 PACIFIC Buisseppo NAC AMG, while Lian Jatong has left the team and Yusuke Tomibayashi and Yuta Fujiwara have been newly registered. Yusuke Tomibayashi will drive the No. 22 ” R’Qs AMG GT3″, which will be driven by Hisashi Wada and Masaki Jonai, with the names of Masaki Kano and Miki Koyama also registered. Wada and Jonai will take on the challenge in the opening round.
The No. 18 UPGARAGE NSX GT3 is entered by Takashi Kobayashi and Shun Koide, with Yusuke Mitsui as the third driver. The opening round will be contested by Kobayashi and Koide, while No. 20 “Shade Racing GR86 GT” will continue the duo of Katsuyuki Hiranaka and Eijiro Shimizu. The team hopes to make the most of the benefits of continuing the duo and make a dash for the start in the opening round.
The GT300 class is also attractive in that new cars are often introduced and driver line-ups are often changed. We hope you will come and watch the race and experience the powerful engine sounds of the racing cars in real life!
