The 17 series Majesta won the best general at the Nagoya Auto Festival 2024
Toyota’s Crown Majesta has won many Drecon award races in the past. It has a unique custom VIP appearance, but the owner, Tomoo Ono, has made small changes over a long period of time, and after repeated successes and failures, he has completed the project. It is filled with advanced techniques that no custom craftsman, no matter how experienced, could have created on the spot.
We aim to create an original VIP that no one else will have
When we asked the owner, Tomoo Ono, how long it took to get to the current state,
he replied
“It was about 15 years ago that I purchased a Series 17 Majesta to customize it. From that point on, I created new custom viewpoints with the members of the Custom VIP team, who share common interests, and we have been working hard to create an original VIP that no one else has.”
It is an undeniable fact that the high motivation of team members is the driving force behind the creation of attractive machines. Team members are not only our most important friends, but also our closest rivals. Even if they are on the same team, every custom car rider has the desire to stand out and win more than anyone else.
This car took about 15 years to produce
Having spent about 15 years in the making of this car, he has renewed it many times while following his inspirations, and while it is a traditional VIP style, it is also sensitive to the changes of each era.
Although the base car, the Crown Majesta, is a symbol of a Japanese VIP car, Mr. Ono did not change its form drastically but customized the body shape itself in a genuine style with some extra elements.
The front section was given a different look by simply replacing the inner unit without changing the headlight shape. In addition, a front grille was added, and a fully original one-off front bumper was fabricated. The left and right fog lamps and small ducts were given a distinctive look.
Although the fenders have a strong front and rear overhang, the stock arches have been enlarged to keep the beautiful sedan form. For the wheels that fit inside the edgy fenders, WORK’s EQUIP E05 wheels with 11.5J front and 12.5J rear were selected.
