Elevated Style: The Iconic Design Elements of BEYOND JAPAN’s CODE10 ‘Jimny’

Complete custom Jimny from BEYOND JAPAN

A record 660 custom cars gathered at the Osaka Auto Messe (OAM) 2024, held at Intex Osaka from 10-12 February 2024. One of the vehicles that caught our attention at the event was a Jimny displayed at the booth of Beyond Japan, which specializes in customizing the current Suzuki JB64 Jimny/JB74 Jimny Sierra.

Trueno face grille and stainless steel bumpers

Till now, BEYOND JAPAN has released several types of custom grills and bumpers for the Jimny and presented many demo cars, starting with the CODE01. This vehicle is CODE 10, which means it is the 10th demo car. We were shown some interesting details of the CODE10.

One of the main features of the exterior is the uniquely designed front grille. This grille, known as the “Tr27 grille”, is based on the Toyota TE27 Sprinter Trueno, and can be painted over to give it a retro look. On this vehicle, the surroundings are painted in the same color as the body, and the headlight bezels and grille edges are painted silver for accentuation.

For the bumper, the company’s Liberte front bumper, made from thick stainless steel pipes, was chosen. By removing the factory bumper and fitting it, the car appears much higher than it actually is. The chrome bumper is fitted with an equally chrome skid plate and yellow-covered fogs. Incidentally, the rear is also fitted with a Liberte bumper, but this one can be fitted with JA11-type tail lamps under the bumper, further emphasizing the vintage look.

The interior is freshened up with two-tone seat covers

The suspension was lifted using a Spiegel 40 mm lift kit. These are mounted on chrome steel wheels with 185/85R16 Open Country R/Ts, which are 1 inch larger in outer diameter than the stock wheels.

Turning to the interior, it has been freshened up with the company’s Urban Grace seat covers, which have been reupholstered in two-tone fabric. This light brown and black two-tone is characterized by grommets in the black areas. The rear seats could also be reupholstered as a set to give the interior a very different feel.

The BEYOND JAPAN’s CODE 10 was a different Jimny custom from the many Jimny customs gathered at the OAM venue and is sure to become a new Jimny custom option.
