The NSX-R offered at Bonhams’ Amelia Island auction in the US was built from a white body purchased directly from Honda Racing in 2007 to celebrate the Japanese racing team Spoon Sports’ 20th anniversary in racing. The model was specially built to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Japanese racing team Spoon Sport.
Tokyo-based Spoon Sport, headed by Tatsuki Ichishima, is a top motorsport contender specialising in the Honda brand and an icon in the tuner world. It didn’t take long before Ichishima decided to build a racing car with the 2007 NSX-R.
