Rally Special TE27 Sprinter Trueno revival
There was once a car that was called “a wolf in sheep’s clothing”. It was Toyota’s TE27 Corolla Levin/Sprinter Trueno. Both twins made their debut in March 1972. The Sprinter Treno, which was fully restored and brought back to life by Auto Advisor Stuff, a store in Aichi Prefecture, is a rally-spec car that recreates the heroic figure that was very active in the WRC at the time. We found out the secret behind its sparkling new look.
This is the “wolf in sheep’s clothing”
Toyota’s first generation TE27 “Corolla Levin/Splinter Trueno” debuted in 1973, and was given the famous 1.6L straight-4 DOHC “2T-G type” engine, which was inherited from its big brother “Celica/Carina 1600GT”, and later became the model that laid the foundation of Toyota’s lightweight FR sports car. The model that later became the cornerstone of Toyota’s lightweight FR sports car.
This time we would like to introduce a TE27 Sprinter Trueno that was beautifully restored by Auto Advisor Stuff in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture.
The revived TE27 Sprinter Trueno is not in its so-called full stock condition. The TE27 is popular as a base vehicle for street tuning, but it was also a car that once showed overwhelming strength in rallies. Therefore, Auto Advisor Stuff gathered parts from the sports corner of the time during the full restoration and revived a rally version of the car, which is somewhat rare in Japan. </p
Is selling at a high price well worth it?
Auto Advisor Stuff’s Sprinter Trueno was one of the cars that was given a rally makeover using parts from that time. After its restoration, it was in such good condition that it could be called a new car. The story goes that many new parts, both interior and exterior, were collected and acquired, and those that could not be obtained were made from original parts. This level of restoration would be impossible for a privateer, so this level of perfection is the culmination of skills that only a specialized store can achieve.
