WiZ International Information Engineering Automobile College exhibited their concept car
At the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024 held at Makuhari Messe from January 12 to 14, 2024, the “Super Silhouette Police” was displayed at the WiZ International Information Engineering Automobile College booth in Fukushima Prefecture. Let us report the details to you.
Based on the 2008 12th-generation Skyline
The WiZ International Information Engineering Automobile College, which is located in Fukushima Prefecture and offers courses in seven fields: automobiles, information, games, drones, architecture, electricity, and radiation, displayed a wonderful concept car.
The name of the car is “Super Silhouette Police,” a fusion of the Nissan “Skyline Super Silhouette” driven by Masahiro Hasemi and the “Machine RS,” the car used in the popular TV drama “Seibu Keisatsu” that became a hit with its flashy gun battles and car action.
When I went around to the front side, I was surprised. To my surprise, a 2008 12th-generation Skyline was the base vehicle (provided by Fukushima Nissan). It was not just a fusion of the Skyline Super Silhouette and the Seibu Keisatsu, but a modernization of the interpretation, style, and base car, and a revival in the modern age.
The excitement of the 1980s all over again
Naturally, at the ages of the students, did not watch Skyline Super Silhouette or Seibu Keisatsu in real-time, so we asked them why they chose this theme.
“We talked together and decided to build a Supersilhouette Police with a Skyline Supersilhouette exterior and a Seibu Keisatsu interior, although it is equipped with a patrol lamp and roof missiles.”
For reference, the concept of vehicle production written on the display plate (explanation board) was also noted, with the following nuances.
“Many of our members are old car enthusiasts and want to build old-fashioned cars! Let’s build a super silhouette with modern cars! This was the idea that started the production of this project. The Super Silhouette Ver. The Seibu Keisatsu V36 Skyline Coupe is a fusion of the silhouette car that everyone longed for and the Western Police Machine RS, upgraded with a modern look to bring the excitement of the 1980s back once again! This concept car is a student’s idea that will bring nostalgia to many people.
The students’ generation seemed to find it fresh, and the generation of old men who watched Skyline Super Silhouette and Western Police in real time seemed to find it nostalgic.
