11 Years of Passion: Transforming a Nissan GT-R into a Liberty Walk Masterpiece

LB specification is to cut and widen the body without hesitation!

A representative Japanese custom store that is no longer unknown in the world of car enthusiasts is Liberty Walk. As a leader in the creation of body kits that boldly cut and widen the stock bodies of rare supercars and sports cars, Liberty Walk is very popular around the world. Mr. Takayuki Miyashita, the owner of the Nissan “GT-R” introduced here, acquired his car because he admired the Liberty Walk specifications.

Fascinated with sports cars from an early age

Mr. Miyashita says that his interest in cars began as a child, partly due to his father’s influence. He also enjoyed playing games such as “Gran Turismo,” which led him to have the strongest yearning for coupe-style sports cars. After that, he began to enjoy car-related YouTube videos and was attracted to the style of sports cars and supercars created by a Japanese store called Liberty Walk.

“I was aware of Liberty Walk through their videos, but when I saw the GT-R on a car-related YouTube show, I was gobsmacked. From that point on, I wanted to drive one! I got this car three years ago.”

More than wanting to drive a Nissan GT-R, he wanted to drive a Liberty Walk-specification GT-R, so he obtained a stock base car from Garage Active, a GT-R specialty store in Fukuoka Prefecture, and immediately began customizing it. He installed the Liberty Walk body kit that he had longed for and further detailed the car to its current style.

Customizing audio for a personal touch

The “GT-R” is an unmistakable sports car that pursues driving quality. Knowing this, Mr. Miyashita pursues his unique sense of dress-up. The best example of this is the audio tuning of his beloved car.

“I haven’t reached the perfection for me, but I have completed to some extent what I wanted to do at this point. I used T-REX TECH for the multi-function display, Carrozzeria for the amplifier, Helix for the digital processor, Kicker for the woofers, and Rockford for the front door speakers and additional tweeters. In addition, the internal cables were also changed.”

The audio system was handled by Emotion, an audio specialty store located in Fukuoka Prefecture. The rear speakers are scheduled to be changed in the future, but Mr. Miyashita himself was very satisfied with the impressive audio performance that matched the power of the exterior.
