Customized to his own specifications over 20 years
Mr. Tominaga has loved American cars since childhood and has been customizing his 1995 Chevrolet Camaro for 20 years. The body was all painted and the racing stripes & fire pattern were also painted. As it is garage-kept, the top and seats are still in stock condition. The engine has been modified almost entirely to give it a powerful specification.
American car enthusiast since childhood
At the K-Styles all-genre American car meet in Tochigi Prefecture, on Sunday 14 April 2024, Mr. Tominaga from Brazil was approached by various owners. 32 years ago, he began living in Japan, and for over 20 years, he has been customizing his 1995 Chevrolet Camaro Z28.
In the past, he drove a Nissan R31 Skyline GTS-R and a Toyota Soarer, but as you can see from his 20 years of ownership, he seems to be very much into the Camaro, as he has loved American cars since childhood and the styling is very appealing.
“The engine was stock when I bought it, but now everything has been changed except the cylinder block, which is a 383cui (6.3L) stroker. The current spec is 450hp and about 600Nm of torque. The power is so great that even if you step on the accelerator just a little bit, the wheels spin.
The engine sound is amazing too. When I built this engine, I kept the transmission, but it broke after two or three months. After that, I made a transmission for drag racing.”
Every part of the car is customized
In addition to the engine itself, various parts have been modified, including the Holley throttle body, MSD, and Powermaster alternator, while the body, suspension, and other parts have also been customized.
“The aero and bonnet were imported from the US and US mirrors and tails were also put in. The suspension is lowered springs, Lakewood arms, and polyurethane bushes. The mufflers are custom-made oval stainless steel. The wheels are also custom made by WORK and are original size VS KF 19″ with 10J front and 11J rear.”
Mr. Tominaga has evolved from normal to its current form for 20 years. What is it about the Camaro that makes it possible for people to love it for such a long time?
“I have driven several Japanese cars, but I like the stylish shape of the Camaro. But if I could sell this Camaro for a lot of money, I might buy a Corvette or a Charger.”
