The “RAYS Fan Meeting” held at Fuji Speedway in 2024, the third year of the event, was again filled with cars and owners wearing old and new RAYS wheels from all over Japan. Among the approximately 700 cars that participated, we would like to introduce the powerful Nissan R34 “Skyline GT-R” that gives the impression of racing.

Initially, I was not strongly attracted to the GT-R, but the more I drove it, the more I fell in love. He modified it to his liking, brushed it up to his ideal form, and now, 13 years later, it has become a true indispensable partner.

“R34 owners tend to customize their cars with an emphasis on a high-class feel, but I decided to go with a dongara (white body) and then remodeled the car with an image reminiscent of the race track. The MFD (multi-function display) was removed, which is synonymous with the R34 GT-R, and the car was made as simple as possible, so it is sometimes mistaken for an ER34 (FR Skyline).

The front bumper, side skirts, and rear underbody are made by NISMO, but the hood and front fenders are by Auto Select, the rear wing stays are by Jun Auto, and the side mirrors are the rare Ganador indicator built-in type. The side mirrors are the rare Ganador type with built-in blinkers. The blinkers, emblems, rear wipers, etc. were eliminated, and heat-graded bolts were used. Footwear is NISMO’s LM GT4 with wheels that appear to be setter-lock spec, and the RDD Brembo brake kit is painted gold, close to the R35 GT-R’s stock color, and other race-inspired details have been meticulously executed.

For the interior, the driver’s seat was replaced with a RECARO RMS full bucket seat, and the rear seat was removed for a spartan look. In addition, a red color was added to the interior, including the center console, to add a stance-like flair. The result is a finish that stands out for its individuality by departing from the norm.
The engine was replaced with an N1 turbine after valve timing adjustments were made. The engine was managed by Power FC. The next goal is to overhaul the engine as the mileage has exceeded 170,000km. At the same time, he would like to increase the power.
There may be pros and cons from other people’s points of view, but tuning and customization is a world of self-satisfaction. In the end, if I can make myself comfortable, that is all that matters.
